Jay Sims
Spending his youth in
Goldthwaite, Jay found out early on there ain't much to do there as a kid
except play sports so he hung out in the pool hall. He wrote his first
song and played in public for cash when he was sixteen - it's been
downhill ever since. He lives a Texas Troubadour lifestyle that includes
no money and lots of geography.
He has lived and played all over
the Southwest and he has had more jobs than most temps. Jay has his own CD out
called, 'So Help Me' that sold well in the US, Australia and Europe.
It
was rated one of the top ten CD's of the year 2001 by Roottown Magazine in
Germany. Makes you wonder why he's selling advertising in Kerrville don't
it?
He's working on a second CD called 'Re- Intarnation.' Jay's voice has
a wistful quality that can be very powerful or hard -
depending on the song. It brings Texas to mind but ultimately Jay sounds
like Hill Country. He wrote cuts 5 and 12. |
